An employee at the Caspian Restaurant in Germantown, Maryland, a Iranian-owned restaurants with branches around the Maryland, DC, Virginia area, recently communicated to two individuals who went into the restaurant to use the restroom that the facilities were only available to paying customers.

At first the two men accepted and began to leave; after a moment, however, they started arguing with him, at which point the employee calmly asked them to leave the premises.

The video begins with a man displaying his Keffiyeh, asserting that the employee's actions are motivated by racism, claiming that the scarf is the reason for asking them to leave. The part where the employee explains that the restrooms are for paying customers, however, has been omitted, and the entire exchange has been posted on social media without the main issue about the exchange being described.

The proprietor, Mr. Amir told Iran So Far Away that many of the random people who have come into the restaurants to use the facilities have either broken or soiled the restrooms, and for that, it is now the restaurant’s policy to only allow people who are there to purchase food to have access to the restrooms

As the owner of multiple restaurants in the DC/MD/VA area, Amir highlights his role as a business proprietor who welcomes patrons from various cultural backgrounds. He notes, "Being an Iranian immigrant in America and working in the food industry, my goal is simply to offer outstanding cuisine. What I do has nothing to do with politics!” He added, “I have, however, put policies in place because people cannot just casually come in to use the restrooms, destroy property, and then leave”

Amir goes on to say: “If the Palestinian issue is what they care about, they should help their cause by being respectful and supportive of other Middle Eastern immigrants who are trying to make a living. Not everything is or has to be political, but it seems that even when we leave Iran, others use the issues caused by the regime in Iran against us.”

Amir states that Muslims should inherently know that if something is banned for reasons that are not essentially harmful but are related to a prohibited issue, in a way, it should be regarded as haraam and respected.

Now, the two individuals have launched an online campaign to harm the restaurant’s business by flooding Google and Yelp with negative reviews.

"My parents, brother, and I left Iran in 1980, shortly after the revolution. After a brief stay in Italy, we packed all our belongings once again and headed west to the exotic and the unknown: Vancouver. We had recently been accepted as landed immigrants, meaning Canada graciously opened its doors and we gratefully accepted; we arrived at Vancouver International Airport on my 10th birthday, three suitcases and one sewing machine in tow. After respectful but intense questioning at immigration, we were dropped off at a hotel on Robson Street, which was then still a couple years shy of becoming the fashionable tourist hub it is today. We were jetlagged, culture shocked, and hungry, so that first night, my father and brother courageously ventured out into the wild in search of provisions. I fell asleep before they returned. The next morning, I woke up at 5 a.m. and ravenously feasted on a cold Quarter Pounder with cheese and limp French fries that had been left by my beds...
Stacey was a nurse so Kurt knew she would be able to give him a pretty good idea of how critical it was. On the other hand her knowledge of medical jargon could make her words seem foreign to Kurt. “He’s sustained two injuries. The first one was right on impact, his brain was shaken around pretty badly. It might have even rotated and perhaps nerve fibers were stretched and veins and arteries might have torn too. The second one is an open wound where the skull broke. The brain is exposed in that area. He was probably hit by some kind of sharp object during the collision.” Stacey unsuccessfully tried to disguise a horrifying yelp that she let out. “It's possible the area around the wound is undamaged. He might be facing long-term disabilities. He’s lost a lot of blood and his blood pressure has really dropped from the trauma. He’s really weakened by the blood loss. Plus there’s the loss of oxygen to the brain. The damage may be catastrophic. And then there’s infection…” “When w...
