Iranian cyclist Mohammad Ganjkhanlou has gone missing in Glasgow, Scotland. He had traveled to Scotland to compete at the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships. Ganjkhanlou finished in 66th place in the men's time trial on Saturday, where Belgian cyclist Remco Evenepoel won the gold medal. Ganjkhanlou has left his hotel Saturday night and has not returned so far, head of Iran’s Cycling Federation, Rasoul Asadi said. “The investigation is ongoing and I hope he is found as soon as possible,” Asadi said. Asadi and Genjkhanlou were originally supposed to return to Iran Sunday night but the cyclist has disappeared.

Two Iranian men have been seriously injured in what police believe may have been a racially-motivated attack in Glasgow. The men, aged 17 and 31, were attacked by three men armed with bladed weapons as they walked through Castlemilk Park at about 12:45 on Wednesday. Both sustained serious injuries in the incident and were taken to Glasgow Victoria Infirmary. Their condition is described as serious but stable. Det Sgt John Stewart said: "The two friends were walking through the park to the local shops when the men, all white and wearing tracksuits, attacked them. "It was totally unprovoked and following inquiries we believe that it may have been racially motivated. "The two men sustained very serious injuries which may leave permanent scarring. It was a terrifying and violent assault." He added: "Officers are currently checking CCTV in the area and an incident caravan is now in place near to the scene."

Iran’s women’s football team defender Melika Mohammadi died in a car crash Saturday night. She was 23. Mohammadi represented Iran at senior level during the 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup qualification. Her teammates Zahra Khajavi and Behnaz Taherkhani were also taken to the hospital in the rollover crash. The accident happened in Bam, Kerman Province, when the Bam Khatoon players were returning from the training. She grew up in US and played in American teams until she was invited to play in Iran. She went to Iran even though her family lived in US.  

A HEROIC shopkeeper who served in the Iran-Iraq war used a chair leg to scare off armed robbers who raided his shop in Little Hulton. When two hooded men burst into Darius Adineh’s convenience store he refused to hand over his hard-earned takings. Instead he told the men “if you want the money you’ll have to come and get it”. Maryam Rashidi, the Centex gas station attendant who was hit by a stolen truck while trying to stop a theft on Sunday, has died. "She's gone, I lost my wife," her husband, Ahmad Rashidi, told CBC News as he took his son to the hospital. "I lost everything." The owner of a large southwest Alabama car dealership derided as "Taliban Toyota" by a competitor has been awarded $7.5 million in damages after a jury trial for his slander claim. The man who stabbed a tourist to death near the Eiffel Tower in Paris swore allegiance to the Islamic State group in a video posted to social media, French anti-terrorist prosecutors said Sunday. Identified as Armand Rajabpour-Miyandoab, the knife attacker is a French national born in 1997 to Iranian parents. He killed a 23-year-old man, identified as a German-Filipino citizen, with two blows from a hammer and four from a knife at around 9:30 pm.  

Two graduate students at the University of Texas at Austin were recently dismissed from teaching assistant roles after sending a message to students titled “mental health and violence in Gaza.” In the Nov. 16 message, Parham Daghighi and Callie Kennedy wrote that they wanted to acknowledge “the mental health implications of the current escalation of violence in Gaza” and clarify that they do not “support the university’s silence around the suffering many of our students, staff, and faculty are experiencing on campus.”Less than a week later, on Nov. 22, both graduate students received a letter from a dean letting them know that they were “effective immediately … relieved of this work assignment” and “will not be reappointed as a TA next semester.”
