The victim of North Vancouver’s first homicide of the year has been
identified as Rostam Poulad-Noshiravan. The 69-year-old man, known in
the Iranian community as “The Ticketmaster” was not known to police.
Evidence showed that the shooting, which took place near the front door
of the residence, was a targeted hit.
Police said a grey or silver import-syle car was seen driving away from the crime scene in the 4000-block of St. Georges Avenue at around 1:15 p.m Saturday. The Lionsgate and Iron Worker’s Memorial bridges were partially shut down as police searched cars for the suspect.
Friends said Poulad was a well-known member of the Iranian community who sold tickets to Iranian concerts and shows in town.
“He made all Iranian[s] happy,” a family friend said. “And he [sold] the ticket to all Iranians….he was such a nice guy.”
“We loved him so much,” another friend said through tears. “I can't believe it. Who did that to him?”
“The victim’s family are shocked by this incident and also hoping that tips from the public and those who may know something can assist the investigators in getting some answers,” said Sergeant Bari Emam of IHIT in a release.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the IHIT Tipline at 1-877-551-4448 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
