I remember in the early 80s people happily cheering that Hasan's death was accidental.
Joel McHale is all about transparency. The 53-year-old comedian opened up about all the ways he’s worked to maintain a full head of hair over the years, and shared his plastic surgery tips during an appearance on the “We Might Be Drunk” podcast earlier this week. “Yeah, I’m fully bald. This is four transplants,” McHale shared. “It’s great, do it now,” McHale said of the new method, before shouting out his doctor, Dr. Parsa Mohebi.
"My parents, brother, and I left Iran in 1980, shortly after the revolution. After a brief stay in Italy, we packed all our belongings once again and headed west to the exotic and the unknown: Vancouver. We had recently been accepted as landed immigrants, meaning Canada graciously opened its doors and we gratefully accepted; we arrived at Vancouver International Airport on my 10th birthday, three suitcases and one sewing machine in tow. After respectful but intense questioning at immigration, we were dropped off at a hotel on Robson Street, which was then still a couple years shy of becoming the fashionable tourist hub it is today. We were jetlagged, culture shocked, and hungry, so that first night, my father and brother courageously ventured out into the wild in search of provisions. I fell asleep before they returned. The next morning, I woke up at 5 a.m. and ravenously feasted on a cold Quarter Pounder with cheese and limp French fries that had been left by my beds...
You know, as I stand outside her window with my camera, I can't help but feel your post does sound a bit creepy. But then I remember an important thought: It really depends on how the person receives you reaching out. Hold on, she is dressing... Okay. Where was I? Oh yes. What you did doesn't seem to bizarre. It sounds like you met someone that you think you'd click with. And found them online. You don't sound like one of those weirdos who'd take things too far. *snap* *snap*. To be honest, I think if the person was thinking the same thing - they wish they had connected with you - then I think you'll be fine. If they thought you were not someone they wanted to connect with, they might think it is a little strange. It all comes down to perspective. Alright, now that I got these shots of my mom fixing the turkey, for her Facebook page, I need to run. But don't worry. It's like I said, all ...
The first time I heard Duran Duran's song UMF I realized somewhere in the middle of it sounded familiar but I couldn't figure out what other song it sounded like. Years later I discovered it sounded like Andy Taylor's Don't Let Me Die Young but then I realized this couldn't have been the song it reminded me of as I had first heard UMF in 1994 while I didn't hear Don't Let Me Die Young until 1997.
Mahtab participates in a lot of ASMR videos. She should really start her own channel.
In 1980 a former classmate wrote me a letter that stated that he was fine and the class was doing find.
Moving all the way from Tehran, Iran, to Powell, Ohio, is not an easy thing to do. But all 6,474 miles were worth it for one family of three, so long as the daughter got to follow her dreams. And it was in Ohio that she was able to pursue her passion for acting, falling in love with playwrights like Lorraine Hansberry and Arthur Miller, eventually landing roles both on Broadway and television. And now, she's nominated for Tony Award. Actress  Talayeh Ashrafi, known professionally as Tala Ashe, known for her roles in Broadway theater and on television shows like "Smash," "As the World Turns" and DC's "Legends of Tomorrow," was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play. Sanaz Toossi's "English" premiered in 2022. The play is set in Karaj, Iran, and follows four adult classmates as they attempt to learn the English language. Cultural assimilation, language and identity are central themes i...
In 1974, at just 14 years old, Jamie Masada found himself alone in Hollywood. A native of Iran, he didn't know anybody and spoke only Farsi. The American producer who had promised to look after him and give him a shot at success had abandoned him. With the $850 his parents had given him long gone, Masada was taken in by a compassionate apartment manager who let him sleep on a couch. And so began Masada's journey to becoming one of America's top comedy impresarios. Supporting himself through a series of odd jobs at comedy shops on the Sunset Strip, Masada was befriended by a group of local comics. It was here that he learned the rhythm of a good joke and honed his instincts for spotting talent. Though he enjoyed comedy once he found it, making it a career path was all but accidental. "If I'd have become a dishwasher then," he says, "I would have gone on to be the best dishwasher." Today, Masada's flagship Laugh Factory on Sunset Boulevard in Holly...
I was wondering if I pooped in a bucket on my own property and someone came along and took it without permission would that be theft? I mean it’s poop, so once it leaves the body, does it not count as “property” anymore?  Scenarios: 1) You poop somewhere away from home and someone collects it after you leave: Not theft. You left it behind it can't reasonably be expected you would be returning for it. 2) You poop at home and have a septic system Theft and potentially destruction of property- if they dig up your septic tank to get to your poop that can only be considered criminal. 3) You poop at home and leave an unflushed turd and they steal it This is a grey area. A grey/brown area. I would say in this case not theft, unless you ask them specifically to not take your poop with them. Again, it can be reasonably expected that you meant to throw away your poop. 4) You poop at home and someone is waiting in the sewer below your house to steal it. Not theft. It can reasonably be expecte...

Seventeen-year-old Iranian winger Aiden Hezarkhani made his MLS debut for Real Salt Lake, coming on as a substitute against the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Finally, Callahan got off the train – one station before his destination.  He knew the area well and given that it was only a few miles from home.  He could easily walk that distance.  But then again there was no hurry to go home and break the news of his failure to his family.  He decided to camp out that night and go home the following morning.  This slight change of plans necessitated that he find something to eat.  He checked his pockets; there were only a couple of wrinkled singles plus a handful of change.  Not even close to what he what he would need to satisfy his hunger, something else had to be done.  Callahan dug deep into one of his backpacks and pulled out his binoculars.  He remembered how he had retrieved them from the observatory in Germany and the thought caused a bit of hesitance.  However, his growling stomach soon prevailed and a determined Callahan marched towards the area’s local pawnshop. He hadn’t been there in ye...
